Verification of competency (VOC)

VOC is a method of assessment that confirms a worker's ability to safely operate plant and equipment and perform tasks relevant to their job role. It is also a tool for employees or contractors to demonstrate their skill level to employers. VOC is commonly used by employers for the following reasons:

  • pre-employment checks
  • worksite requirements
  • contract negotiations
  • evidence that workers who obtained their licence or qualification many years ago, can demonstrate their understanding of current industry standards and regulations
  • industry certification and nationally recognised qualifications.
