Disability support services

We are committed to providing equal learning opportunities for students with disabilities at no extra cost.

Students may access disability support services if they disclose an:

  • intellectual/physical or sensory impairment
  • a medical, neurological or psychiatric condition
  • a development disorder
  • a learning disability such as dyslexia.

Our Disability Support Officers identify a student's specific requirements, liaise with teachers regarding the student's needs, and organise equipment and specialist personnel.  We can help with facilitating assistive technologies to support learning including specialised computer software, keyboards, learning aids and hearing devices.

Students with a disability have access to:

  • AUSLAN sign language interpreters
  • coaches, note-takers, readers and scribes
  • tutors to support course work
  • professional assessment services
  • adjusted exam conditions
  • reasonable adjustments to training delivery.

To ensure that learning resources are available in their chosen training program, students should contact the disability support team prior to enrolment.

If you are still not sure whether this service is for you, please contact our Disability Support team to discuss your specific needs. Once we get to know you and what you need, we can create an individual support plan.
