If you’re an Electrician, Instrument Fitter, Electronics and Communication Tradesperson or a Mechanical Fitter with a restricted electrical licence, then this course is the next step toward including automation in your skill set.

Resources required

Students are responsible for meeting the minimum occupational health and safety requirements in practical classes, which include:

  • safety glasses - students must wear these at all times in the workshop or any eye hazard area as specified by the teacher
  • protective footwear - covered uppers, steel capped toes and non-slip shoes to AS2210
  • industrial type clothing (100% cotton drill).

Students failing to meet these minimum standards of dress will not be permitted entry in to practical classes. Students must also be equipped with a pen and notepad for theory training in the classroom.

The successful achievement of this course requires students to complete all units below plus all other Core units listed on www.Training.gov.au up to the required point scale.  These units form part of UEE43211 - Certificate IV in Industrial Automation and Control.

Students who hold Trade Certificates can undertake Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for all Core units.

The Queensland Government will offset the cost of study for eligible students. You will still need to pay for a portion of your study costs. The amount above is what you will need to pay.

Concession

You are eligible for the concession price of a course if you meet the eligibility requirements under the subsided costing and:

Additional costs

Students who hold a Trade Certificate will undertake Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for Core units at an additional cost.

Outcome

If all required core and elective units completed as listed on www.Training.gov.au up to the required point scale students will recieve the UEE43211 - Certificate IV in Industrial Automation and Control.

If only selected Skill Set units are completed students will receive a Statement of Attainment for the completed units.
