Entry requirements

Students must be employed as an apprentice and have a signed Registered Training Contract, stating TAFE Queensland SkillsTech is the Supervising Registered Training Organisation (SRTO).

Work wear and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Students who do not meet these minimum standards of work wear and PPE will not be permitted entry into workshops.

  • Protective clothing – long cotton drill trousers, and short or long-sleeved cotton drill shirt

  • Eye protection – must comply with AS1336 or AS1337

  • Protective footwear – safety toe, leather upper, non-slip – must comply with AS2210

  • Hair protection – peak cap with a snood capable of fully containing hair


Workplace Delivery
The Workplace Training and Assessment schedule is agreed to by the employer and workplace assessor to address the units within the agreed training plan and progression.

Eligible apprentices and trainees that meet the Queensland state funding requirements will be charged a set fee per nominal hour.  Please see attached Student/Employer Contribution fees.

Non-funded apprentices and trainees will be charged a fee for service cost.  These will be confirmed prior to the commencement of training.

Information regarding costs will be outlined on the agreed training plan, which will be provided to the employer and apprentice or trainee  at time of induction.

Full fee

This is the total cost of the course for students who do not qualify for a subsidy, or the course does not receive any subsidy.

The Queensland Government will offset the cost of study for eligible students. You will still need to pay for a portion of your study costs. The amount above is what you will need to pay.


You are eligible for the concession price of a course if you meet the eligibility requirements under the subsided costing and:

  • hold or are listed on an Australian Government Low Income Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card
  • are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
  • have a disability.

You will need to provide evidence at the time of enrolment.

Additional Costs

There are no additional costs to study this course.


On successful completion of this course you receive a National AUR21216 - Certificate II in Automotive Underbody Technology qualification.
