Computer-aided design (CAD) training

Develop your skills in technical drawing and design with this advanced qualification. Become a draftsperson or technical officer and open the possibilities of further study and career advancement. Your technical and design skills will be in demand in a range of industries, such as building and construction, civil construction and engineering, where more specialised skills are needed.

This course will assist you to develop skills in the creation of drawings and specifications for almost any purpose from engineering components to large structures. You will learn hand sketching and develop extensive skills in computer aided design (CAD) and 3D modelling. Choose from a variety of streams including engineering drawing, math and specialised CAD operations.

Successful completion of this course will give you the opportunity to become a practicing designer, draftsperson or technician. It will add to your skill set as a tradesperson or drawing office assistant to advance your engineering design career and put you on the path to further study. Course details

Timetable

Students must attend the first class after enrolment and then attend a minimum of once every 4 weeks.

Enrol into one competency at a time to ensure you complete within the allocated duration.

 

Acacia Ridge:             Tuesday evenings 5.00 pm to 8.00 pm

Bracken Ridge:          Monday evenings from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm

Eagle Farm:                Wednesday afternoons 12.45 pm – 4.45 pm or Thursday evenings 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm

Distance:                     This course is delivered in a self-paced, distance mode. No classroom time is required. You have up to six months to complete each unit.

Payment Plan

If you have difficulty paying the full cost of a course up front you might be eligible for a payment plan. This will allow you to pay for your course in instalments, rather than one upfront payment at the time of enrolment.

Subsidised

The Queensland Government will offset the cost of study for eligible students. You will still need to pay for a portion of your study costs. The amount above is what you will need to pay.

You are eligible for the concession price of a course if you meet the eligibility requirements under the subsided costing and:
